B Series Degreaser Installation
Rev G Page 46
For solvents other than Perchloroethylene, use a small screwdriver to adjust the setpoint
potentiometer (R60) until the display matches the solvent MSDS boiling point (corrected for
altitude if required.) Press the HEAT switch on the controller front panel to store the setting.
The range of adjustment is 70° to 220°F (21°-104°C.)
For Perchloroethylene, press and hold the COOL switch and then press the HEAT switch.
250°F (121°C) will be stored. The position of the potentiometer is irrelevant.
Warning: Setting the Boiling Temperature incorrectly may result in false tripping or a fire due to
excessive flammable soil contamination.
3.9.3 Co-solvent Applications
The boiling sump over-temperature safety activates at 106% of the set boiling temperature.
Set the controller to 94% of the desired trip point. (EXAMPLE: To shut off the degreaser at
165°F, set the controller to 155°F.) Use a small screwdriver to adjust the setpoint
potentiometer (R60) until the display matches the desired temperature. Press the HEAT
switch on the controller front panel to store the setting. The range of adjustment is 70° to
220°F (21°-104°C.)
3.9.4 Ultrasonic Sump Temperature
The U/S pilot light will illuminate after setting the boil sump temperature if the controller
detects an ultrasonic temperature probe. Use a small screwdriver to adjust the setpoint
potentiometer (R60) until the display matches the desired temperature. Press the U/S switch
on the controller front panel to store the setting. The range of adjustment is 70° to 220°F
(21°-104°C.)
There is a 4°F (2.2°C) hysteresis built into the ultrasonic heat control. This means that the
heater turns on when the temperature drops to 4°F (2.2°C) below the setpoint and shuts off at
the setpoint.
3.9.5 Locking the Settings
Move the CALIBRATE switch away from the calibrate position to lock the settings. The dots
between the display numbers will turn off.
3.10 Switching from °
°°
°F to °
°°
°C
Move SW3 to the left (as shown in Figure 3-4) to display the temperature in degrees Centigrade.
Move the switch to the right to display the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. The indicators on
the control panel will display current units.
3.11 Changing Display from U/S Temp to B/S Temp
The degreaser is shipped from the factory displaying the ultrasonic sump temperature. Move SW4,
B/S-U/S Temperature Display switch, to the opposite position to change the displayed
temperature. The indicators on the control panel will display the current setting.
Note: The ultrasonic sump temperature indicates whether or not the ultrasonic sump is ready to
process parts. Display the ultrasonic sump temperature if that temperature is critical to the
