3 Installation
3.1 Unpacking and Handling
Use reasonable precautions when unpacking and handling your system. To avoid damage, use the
shipping container when transporting the equipment.
Inspect all external controls and surfaces prior to setup to detect possible shipping damage.
Report any damage at once to the carrier.
Note: The carrier is responsible for damage to equipment during shipment. If damage has
occurred, notify the carrier immediately. Retain packing materials for inspection. The
customer is responsible for filing the claim.
3.2 Location
Locate the B Series degreaser in a well ventilated area.
Provide at least 24” on the front, left and back sides for ventilation of the refrigeration units.
Caution: Insure that air which is exhausted out the left and back sides is not redirected to the
refrigeration air inlets on the front of the B Series degreaser. Recirculating air may
cause a loss of capacity in the refrigeration systems.
Air blowing into or across the top opening of the B Series degreaser will significantly increase solvent
losses. For maximum efficiency, the air velocity 6 inches above the tank opening should not exceed 50 feet
per minute.
Note: NESHAP 63.466(d) describes measurement methods that may be used to determine air
velocity. They are not mandatory for this equipment but adhering to low air velocity
principles will reduce solvent usage.
Warning: Do not install near welding operations, exposed electrical heating elements or open
flames. Solvent vapors may decompose when exposed to high temperatures or
ultraviolet light and form toxic and corrosive compounds.
3.3 Leveling
Level the degreaser using the leveling feet.
3.4 Electrical Connections
3.4.1 Power-In
See Figure 2-1 for the location of the power-in access hole.
Consult the appropriate specifications page or the degreaser specification label for electrical
requirements. Electrical connection should be made by a factory trained technician or licensed
electrician only.
