B Series Degreaser Installation

Ensure all circuit breakers and overload devices are in there off or “tripped “position. Connect
power-in connections to a fused disconnect switch.
Connect to the B Series degreaser control box as shown in Figure 3-1.

3.4.1 Rotation
Scroll Compressors will only compress in one rotational direction. Direction of rotation is not
an issue with single-phase compressors since they will always start and run in the proper
direction. Three-phase compressors will rotate in either direction depending upon phasing of
the power. Since there is a 50-50 chance of connecting power in such as way as to cause
rotation in the reverse direction, it is important to check the rotation of the compressor
upon start up.
Before applying power to the unit for the first time, ensure all circuit breakers and overload
devices are in the off or “tripped” position. Units supplied with fuses should have the fuse
holders opened . After applying power and verifying proper voltage, individually turn one
circuit on at a time by turning the circuit breaker on or closing the fuse holder. Verify proper
operation of each circuit, including rotation direction, prior to turning on the next circuit.
Scroll compressors will typically make a loud noise if run backwards to provide an audible
alert. If there is no audible alert then the second course of action is tofurther confirm that the
unit is actually cooling. If a technician is available with gauges then it should be observed
that the suction pressure drops and the discharge pressure rises. In the absence of refrigeration
gauges the operator will notice a lack of cooling and most likely a COO alarm.
Caution: Operating the compressor in reverse rotation can lead to damage to the compressor.
3.4.2 TDR Interconnect Cables
On degreasers equipped with the TDR Interface Option:
Plug the 25 pin cable male connector into the receptacle on the underside of the degreaser
control box. Plug the female cable connector into the EXT RELAYS receptacle on the TDR
controller.
