4.2 Start-up
4.2.1 Turn On Power
Turn on power at the customer supplied disconnect device.
Turn on the degreaser disconnect.
The POWER and C or F indicators will illuminate and the digital display will show the
temperature or error indication.
See Section 5.12.6 if a fault message (DE1-DE6) is displayed.
4.2.2 Initialize the Lift and Power Cover (If Installed)
WARNING Lift and cover may move rapidly when first operated unless the
following steps are performed:
4.2.2.1 Degreasers Without Lifts
Place the cover AUTO MAN switch in the MAN position and the OPEN CLOSE switch in
the CLOSE position.
Turn the disconnect switch on.
Open the cover by placing the OPEN CLOSE switch in the OPEN position.
Turn the AUTO MAN switch to the AUTO position. The cover will close.
The cover is now ready for normal operation.
4.2.2.2 Degreasers With Lifts
The degreaser is normally shipped with the cover closed and the lift down and to the left.
Disconnect air supply
Turn the disconnect switch on.
Go to the MANUAL screen. Place the cover in COVER MANUAL and MANUAL CLOSE.
Connect the air supply.
Dress the DOWN key to charge the lift cylinder with air.
Press the LEFT key to charge the horizontal air cylinder with air.
Toggle the MANUAL CLOSED switch to MANUAL OPEN.
When the cover is open, press and hold the UP key until the lift is fully up.
Toggle the COVER MANUAL key to COVER AUTO. The cover will close.
The lift and cover are now ready for normal operation.
4.2.3 Starting the Sub-zero Cooling
Press the “SUB-ZERO” switch to start the sub-zero refrigeration system. The indicator lamp
will light to show that the sub-zero refrigeration is active.
The liquid line solenoid valve will open to allow refrigerant into the sub-zero coils.
The compressor will start when the refrigerant suction pressure rises above the low pressure
cut-in setpoint.
4.2.4 Starting the Cooling
Note: There is no advantage in running the primary cooling system when the heat is shut off. The
solvent emissions will be the same or slightly better if the primary cooling system is turned
off during shut down periods.
