B Series Degreaser Installation

3.6 Water Cooling Connections
Water cooled degreasers require clean cooling water to operate.
Cooling water requirements are shown below (20 psig minimum pressure).
Water In Temp 50-80 50-80 50-80 50-80 degF
Total BTU 22,411 30,106 69,360 110,501 BTU
Temp Rise 30 30 30 30 degF
Flow Required 1.5 2.0 4.6 7.4 gpm
The water flow automatically adjusts to maintain the proper refrigeration pressures. Do not try to
adjust the flow with manual valves.
Connect the water supply to the Water-In fitting (1/2 npt).
Connect the water return line to the Water Out fitting (1/2 npt)
Water will not flow if the lines are reversed.
Figure 3-4 Water Cooling Connections
If using a dedicated chiller, adjust the chiller’s pressure relief to allow the circulator pump to
continue pumping when the degreaser cooling shutoff solenoid valve is closed.
If connected to plant cooling water, ensure that the supply water is clean and always available.
Add a filter to the supply line to remove rust and debris that could clog the degreaser’s pressure
control valves.
Caution: Operating the degreaser without cooling water or with dirty cooling water may
damage the refrigeration systems and void the warranty.
3.7 Air Connections
If the degreaser is equipped with a lift or power cover, connect a 60-120 psig ½ cfm air supply to
the ¼ NPT air connection fitting. See Figure 2-1 for the location of the fitting.
Warning: The cover and lift may move rapidly upon initial startup. Follow
procedures outlined in Section 4.2.2 Initialize the Lift and Power Cover
(If Installed) to prevent high velocity movements.
Note: If a lubricator is installed in the air line, lubricant will be exhausted within the degreaser
enclosure.
