B Series Degreaser Maintenance
Rev G Page 107
8) Check transformer output voltage. Reconnect all wires and start the degreaser heat.
Turn on the ultrasonics. Measure the voltage between J1 and J4 on each board. Rewire i
n
a
ccordance with the schematic if the output voltage is not between 144 and 176 volts.
9) Measure Generator Board operating parameters.
Turn off the ultrasonics.
Use a dual channel oscilloscope to measure the saturation voltage and the crossover
current.
Connect the current probe to the current loop (TL1.)
Connect the voltage probe to the collector and the ground lead to the emitter on the
transistor.
Turn on the ultrasonics.
Compare the readings to Figure 5-5. Replace the generator board if measurements are
not within specified limits.
5.12.12 Ultrasonics Do Not Operate, Series 8XXX Option
Note: Refer to the generator manual for generator troubleshooting procedures.
Is the HEAT Indicator lighted? If not, start heat.
Is the lift configured to control the ultrasonics? If yes, is the lift CYCLE indicator lighted and
is the lift in the ultrasonic immersion portion of the cycle?
Is the U/S indicator lighted? If not, press the U/S switch to light the indicator.
Check that the generator(s) is (are) plugged into the receptacle J51 (and J54).
Check that the RF cable(s) is (are) plugged into the generator(s).
Check that the control cable(s) is (are) plugged into the generator.
Check that the generator ON/OFF switch(es) is (are) on.
Check receptacle fuses (See schematic). Replace blown fuses.
Check Transducers. See paragraph 7 in the previous section.
