B Series Degreaser Operation
Rev G Page 65
Press the COOL membrane switch on the control panel to start the primary refrigeration
system. The COOL indicator will light.
The primary refrigeration liquid line and bypass solenoids will open to allow refrigerant into
the condensing coil. The compressor will start when the low side pressure rises to the cut-in
set point. This may take 15-20 seconds. The coil will then start to cool.
The display may show “COO” until the temperature of the condensing coil drops below 70°F.
The display will then revert to showing the boil sump or ultrasonic sump temperature.
The display may show a DE2 error message (vapor level over temperature.) on start-up if the
degreaser is set for low boiling solvents and the room temperature is higher than 25°F below
the solvent boiling temperature. Wait a few minutes so that the temperature in the freeboard
zone drops below the fault temperature. Press the HEAT switch to reset the fault. This fault
may be avoided by starting the sub-zero refrigeration 5 minutes before pressing the COOL
membrane switch.
The display will show CLL if the level in the boiling sump is low. Add solvent. The display
will then revert to showing the boil sump or ultrasonic sump temperature.
4.2.5 Starting the Heat
The HEAT switch will not operate if a fault message is displayed.
With cooling on, press the HEAT membrane switch on the control panel to start the heat. The
boil sump and the ultrasonic sump heaters will operate when the HEAT indicator is lighted.
4.2.6 Fault Messages
Note: See Chapter 5 for detailed troubleshooting procedures using the fault indicators.
The heat will shut off if a fault condition occurs. The B Series fault conditions are:
High Coolant Temperature. The thermostat located on the outlet from the condensing coil
indicates that the coil is too hot. The Display will show COO”. This fault will reset when the
fault condition is corrected.
B/S Level. The liquid level switch indicates a low liquid level in the boiling sump. The B/S
LEV FAULT indicator will be lighted. The display will show “CLL”. This fault will reset
when the fault condition is corrected.
B/S Temperature High. The temperature sensor located on the boil sump heater reads a high
temperature that may indicate excessive contamination in the boiling sump. The B/S TEMP
FAULT indicator will be lighted. The display will show “dE1”. Press HEAT to reset the fault
when the condition has been corrected.
B/S Probe Missing. The temperature sensor located on the boiling sump heater has failed.
The display will show “dE3”. Press HEAT to reset the fault when the condition has been
corrected.
U/S Probe Missing. The ultrasonic sump temperature probe has failed. The display will show
“dE4”. Press HEAT to reset the fault when the condition has been corrected.
Vapor Level High. The temperature sensor located above the condensing coil reads a high
temperature that may indicate a cooling failure. The display will show “dE2”. Press HEAT to
reset the fault when the condition has been corrected.
