B Series Degreaser Installation
Rev G Page 59
On B452 and B950 degreasers with vertical lifts, the spray manifold nozzles must be installed
over the ultrasonic sump.
On B452 and B950 degreasers with dual axis lifts, the spray manifold nozzles must be
installed over the boiling sump.
3.18.2 Spray Bar Adjustment
Adjust the spray bar angle so that the top edge of the spray pattern points slightly downward.
3.18.3 Spray Pressure
Adjust the spray flow valve until the impact of the spray pattern between opposing nozzles
does not generate clouds of mist,
Caution: Excessive spray force or spraying above horizontal will significantly increase solvent
losses.
3.18.4 Spray Duration
The maximum spray duration is limited by the size of the reservoir, the flow adjustment and
the number of nozzles.
The amount of spraying during any time period is limited by the distillation rate of the
degreaser.
Spray droplets condense vapors and tend to collapse the vapor blanket. Spraying above the
vapor zone is prohibited. The Ready sensor monitors the level of the vapor zone and will
inhibit spraying if the blanket falls below the sensor. The Ready light turns off when this
happens.
All of the above factors limit the amount of spraying possible. If spray duration is inadequate,
reduce the spray force and angle the manifolds downward.
If the amount of distillate is inadequate, add a solvent recovery still to supply additional
solvent to the spray reservoir.
