4.3.2.3 Automatic Operation Lift (B452 and B950)
Turn the controller U/S switch ON if the lift is programmed to turn the ultrasonics on and
off.
4.3.3 Degassing
When the ultrasonics are first turned on, there will be a moment of intense activity followed
by a period of low noise while the solvent degasses. When degassing is complete, the noise
will increase to normal levels.
The amount of time required for degassing depends upon the solvent, the operating
temperature and the amount of dissolved gas. High boiling solvents (above 150°F) may
require long degas periods because of the low initial ultrasonic sump temperature.
4.3.4 Spraying
4.3.4.1 Hand Spray Wand
Note: The spray pump will not operate unless the READY indicator is lighted.
• Remove the spray wand from the holder.
• Hold the tip of the spray wand UNDER the vapor zone and above the part to be sprayed.
• Press the foot switch to operate the spray pump while directing the solvent stream at the part.
• Release the foot switch to stop spraying.
• Return the spray wand to the holder.
Warning: Do not spray outside of the vapor zone. Never direct the spray outside of the tank.
Warning: Wear protective gloves, an apron and a face shield when spraying. Splashed solvent can
damage the eyes and skin. Do not inhale solvent vapors. Hot solvent may cause burns.
Note: Spraying will significantly increase solvent emissions.
4.3.4.2 Spray Manifold
Note: The spray pump will not operate unless the READY indicator is lighted.
• Press the foot switch to operate the spray pump while directing the solvent stream at the part.
• Release the foot switch to stop spraying.
• The spray manifold will operate automatically if the TDR is programmed to operate it. See
Section 3.14.
Note: Spraying will significantly increase solvent emissions.
4.3.5 Power Cover Option
4.3.5.1 Manual Operation- No Lift
Turn the AUTO MAN switch to the MAN position.
Turn the OPEN CLOSE switch to the OPEN position to open the cover.
