troubleshoot and repair the unit.
Troubleshooting
WARNING
Read the REPAIR chapter and make
sure that the power is disconnected
before doing any repairs.
ISSUE POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
Unit Starts, Then Shuts Down
(continued from previous page)
2. RUN detect circuit faulty
(No RUN/24VAC indicator
on main board).
Check for 24VAC at PIN3 on DC
power supply for 1-2 seconds after
starting.
If there is 24VAC at PIN3 but no
RUN/24VAC indicator, replace DC
supply 1612-530.
If there is no 24VAC at PIN3, check
and replace the start relay (CR1,
CR2, or CR3), auxiliary contact, or
wiring as necessary.
Do not try to measure 24VAC at the
connection to the main controller.
This is a logic signal provided by
the power supply (0vdc = on, 5vdc
= off).

1. No voltage at the CHI
panel.
Check and repair the 5vdc connec
-
tion from the main control board to
the CHI panel.
2. The CHI panel is faulty. Check and repair controller and CHI
panel connections. Check vacuum
tube (vf display) for damage.
Check and repair processor pin con
-
nections.
Replace as necessary.
Unit Is Running Normally Then
Goes into Standby State
or
Unit Starts and Goes Immedi-
ately Into Standby State
Message reads:
IRONER/FOLDER NOT READY
1. The spreader/feeder has
received a fault signal from
another machine in the line.
Make sure communications cable
connections between units in the
line are secure.
Determine which machine in the line
caused the fault signal and correct.
