4-2 T-Series Traffic Director Installation, Configuration and Administration Guide
Chapter 4 Dynamic Routing Protocol Configuration for T 1000/Unison
all will have the same routing information. OSPF multicasts the updated information only
when a change has taken place. Rather than simply counting the number of hops, OSPF
bases its path descriptions on link states that take into account additional network
information. OSPF also lets the user assign cost metrics to a given host router so that some
paths are given preference. OSPF supports a variable network subnet mask so that a network
can be subdivided.
OSPF Configuration
The following topics describe OSPF operations and a typical T1000 configuration with
OSPF.
Sample OSPF Network
Figure 4-1 shows a sample T1000 network supporting the OSPF protocol. The values shown
in this example will be used in the configuration procedure.
