12. If the appliance is not a primary appliance, then run the following command to
perform a force failover to ensure that the appliance is a primary appliance:
> force failover
13. Verify that the appliance is a primary appliance.
Enabling Synchronization on the Secondary Appliance
To enable synchronization on the secondary appliance, complete the following procedure:
1. Run the following command to verify that the appliance is a secondary appliance:
> show node
2. Run the following command to enable synchronization on the appliance:
> set node -hasync enable
3. Run the following command to verify that the configuration of the secondary
appliance is synchronized with that of the primary appliance:
> show ns runningconfig
Installing/Upgrading T1000 License
Before you deploy a T1000 on the network, you must get the appliance licensed
appropriately. The T1000 includes a pre-installed license. License upgrades must be
obtained from Bytemobile.
Licenses must be copied to the /nsconfig/license directory on the appliance using secure
copy or FTP. Create the /nsconfig/license directory if it does not exist. Licenses are read at
startup, therefore allowing features to be enabled by the appliance. For complete license

To install the licenses using the configuration utility, complete any of the following
procedure:
• Software Release Earlier Than 10
• Software Release 10 or Later
Software Release Earlier Than 10
To install the licenses using the configuration utility with software release earlier than 10,
complete the following procedure:
1. In a Web browser, type the IP address of the appliance, such as http://192.168.100.1.
2. In User Name and Password, type the administrator credentials.
3. In the navigation pane, expand the System node.
4. Select the Licenses node.
5. Click Manage Licenses.
6. Click Add.
