Charging the battery using
a battery charger
F Disconnectthebatteryfromthevehicle.
F Follow the instructions for use provided by
themanufacturerofthecharger.
F Connectthebatterystartingwiththe
negativeterminal(-).
F Checkthattheterminalsandconnectors
areclean.Iftheyarecoveredwithsulphate
(whitishorgreenishdeposit),removethem
andcleanthem.
Reinitialisation after
reconnection
After any reconnection of the battery, switch on
theignitionandwaitatleastoneminutebefore
starting,toallowtimefortheinitialisationofthe
electronicsystems.
Byreferringtothecorrespondingsections,you
shouldsetorinitialisethefollowingsystems
yourself:
- one-touch electric windows,
- timeanddate,
- audioandnavigationsystemsettings.
Checkthatnoalertmessageorwarninglamp
comesonafterswitchingontheignition.
However,ifminorproblemspersistafter
carryingouttheseoperations,contacta
CITROËNdealeroraqualifiedworkshop.
Reconnecting the (+) cable
F PositiontheopenclampE of the cable on
thepositivepost(+)ofthebattery.
F PressverticallyontheclampE to position
itcorrectlyonthebattery.
F Locktheclampbyspreadingthe
positioninglugandthenloweringthetabD.
Disconnecting the (+) cable
F RaisethelockingtabD fully to release the
cableterminalclampE.
Donotapplyexcessiveforceonthe
tabaslockingwillnotbepossibleifthe
clampisnotpositionedcorrectly;start
theprocedureagain.
With Stop & Start, the battery does not
havetobedisconnectedforcharging.
Before disconnecting the battery
Wait2minutesafterswitchingofftheignition
beforedisconnectingthebattery.
Close the windows and the doors before
disconnectingthebattery.
