GE 300 5. Configuration CCT 800
3.3/0518 23
Configuration of bandwidth usage
It is possible to configure the maximum bandwidth used in the network by the Intercom Server.
Configuration CCT 800
IP - Settings > tab Extended Settings
In the drop-down list Bandwidth in kBit, select the bandwidth, which is used in the network by the
G3-GEM card for data and speech.
In the drop-down list Data-Bandwidth in kBit, select the bandwidth, which is used for data packets
that leave the G3-GEM cards.
At bad Internet connection or missing QoS
When transmitting speech via a data network, the Intercom Server performs a automatic jitter ad-
justment. At a bad Internet connection or missing QoS mechanisms, this can lead to a reduced
speech quality.
If the speech transmission at the start of conversations is faulty, the time in the drop-down list Jitter
Buffer Start Delay should be increased.
If speech quality is not good during conversations, the checkbox No decrement of Jitter Buffer
should be activated. This prevents automatic readjusting of the jitter adjustment.
Configuration power management
By default, the Intercom Server GE 300 is powered with a 30 W power supply unit, whereby the number
of usable digital subscribers is limited. With using a 60 W (with PRO 800 6.0 or higher) or 70 W power
supply unit, the number of usable digital subscribers can be increased.
Configuration CCT 800
Go to: Intercom Server > General Settings > tab General
Generation: In this drop-down list, select the entry “2” (2nd generation of the GE 300).
Power Supply [W]: In this drop-down list, select either the entry “60” or “70” (according to the used
power supply unit) to use the full capacity of the power supply unit.
by default: 30
Go to: Subscriber > Station properties > tab Extended Settings
Deactivate power management: Activate this checkbox to optimize the power distribution over
all digital subscriber cards if the respective subscriber has an external power supply.
NOTE: Bandwidth
The overall bandwidth has always to be set higher as the data bandwidth. It is recommended to
select “unlimited”.
NOTE: Bandwidth
When the bandwidth is reduced, the packets leave the cards with a longer delay between them
(traffic shaping algorithm according to leaky bucket principle). This prevents a “packet burst”, which
can lead to a queue overflow at the router.
ATTENTION:
The following configuration may only be required for the Intercom Server GE300 (generation 2)!
