5. Configuration CCT 800
Configuration via IP or RS-232
Configuration of GE 300 Intercom Servers can be carried out via a RS-232 or standard network cable.
IP (Ethernet)
For the configuration, connect the computer with a network cable directly to the Intercom Server (“Up-
link” port of G3-GEM) or with a switch in the network.
RS-232
For configuration via RS-232 a 9-way D-Submin extension cable (1:1, plug Server-side, socket PC-side)
is required. This cable is connected to the 9-way D-Submin socket on the motherboard G3-GEM (see
page 15). This cable can be purchased at an electric outfitter or ordered under the type “X-KAB-CCT”.
NC = not connected
NOTES: Configuration
It is not recommended to use RS-232 to USB adapters.
For detailed information about the configuration on features, see current manual “Intercom Server
Configuration”.
NOTES: Networking
In a network, the Intercom Server and the computer must be in the same subnet.
The Intercom Server is automatically advised an IP address during initialisation (see page 22).
