GE 800 7. Configuration of IP-Terminals
1.1/1209 35
Network Requirements
IP-Addresses and Ports
Each G8-IP must have a fixed IP-address
For the ET 901/ET 908 the DHCP functionality is available
If DHCP is not used, the ET 901/ET 908 must have a fixed IP-address
In case of a changing public IP-address, dynamic registration of an ET 901/ET 908 is possible
Communication from the program IPStationConfig is done via Port 16399 (can not be configured)
The communication from the ET 901/ET 908 to the Intercom Server (UDP protocol) is done via port
16400 (can be configured)
QoS Requirements
Maximum One-Way-Delay 100 ms
Delay-Jitter not above 50 ms
0% packet loss for perfect audio quality
Bandwidth
The required bandwidth depends on the desired number of speech links
The minimum bandwidth incl. protocol overhead is 96 kBit for upload and download each
(speech & data)
Speech is compressed according to G.722 standard
The Program IPStationConfig
With the program “IPStationConfig” the first installation steps for IP-stations / IP-boxes are carried out
(allocation of IP-addresses).
Further configuration is carried out in CCT (e.g. configuration IP-subscriber card, allocation IP-subscri-
ber card – IP-subscriber) see page 44
.
The program “IPStationConfig” can only be used in local networks (LAN).
This means, before the IP-stations / IP-boxes are installed at the respective locations, all IP-stations/
IP-boxes have to be configured in a local network previously.
The PC which is used for configuration does not have to belong to the same subnet as the IP-stations/
IP-boxes.
Additionally it is possible to save the configuration as XML-File and load it later on. It is also possible
to export the configuration as XLS-, TXT- or HTML-File.
Attention:
Communication via port 16400 (Single Port Protocol) only available with firmware versions min.:
ET 901: 02.4 Build 03 / 03.1 Build 03
DSP900 (for ET 908): 03.1 Build 04
IP-terminals with older firmware versions:
Communication is done via port 16400 – 16404 (configurable)
