5. CCT-Configuration GE 800
22 1.1/1209
The MAC - Address is displayed only in CCT, but cannot be changed.
In the combo-boxes Uplink and Downlink the ethernet operation mode of the RJ45 ports can be
selected:
- Autonegotiation (Standard)
- 10MBit / Half duplex
- 10MBit / Full duplex
- 100MBit / Half duplex
- 100MBit / Full duplex
Firewall Configuration
It is possible to define which cards communicated via which ports of the G8-NET.
Additionally it is possible to configure which cards are allowed to use which port (Uplink, Downlink
or both)
Configuration CCT:
IP - Settings > Tab NET - Firewall
The following settings affect the Uplink and Downlink ports of the G8A-NET installation board.
Deactivated = check-mark set = communication possible
Activated = no check-mark = communication not possible
Uplink Mask (Slot) and Downlink Mask (Slot):
Deactivated: the respective slot can communicate with the outside world via the uplink/downlink
port
Activated: the communication with the outside world is blocked for the respective slot via the
uplink/downlink port
Uplink VLAN-ID and Downlink VLAN-ID: in case the external switches are configured with VLAN,
for communication with the outside world the VLAN numbers have to be entered in these fields.
NET-ARP for Uplink and NET-ARP for Downlink:
Deactivated: NET-connections possible
Activated: for situations where the NET-card shall communicate with the outside world, however
no NET-connections shall be possible (e.g. for configured LAN-connections to work).
Allow packets between up- and downlink:
Deactivated: communication outside world <-> Uplink <-> Downlink <-> outside world possible
Activated: only communication outside world <-> Uplink or Downlink <-> outside world
Configuration of Bandwidth Usage
It is possible to define the maximum bandwidth used in the network by the Intercom Server.
Configuration CCT:
IP - Settings > Tab Extended Settings
In the combo-box Bandwidth in kBit the bandwidth which is used in the network by the G8-NET
can be selected (data + speech). The overall bandwidth must always be set higher as the Databand-
width. Recommendation: select no limitation!
Data-Bandwidth in kBit: In this combo-box the bandwidth which is used for data packets that lea-
ve the G8-NET cards can be defined. When the bandwidth is reduced, the packets leave the cards
with a larger time period between them (Traffic Shaping Algorhythm according to Leaky Bucket Prin-
ciple). This prevents a “Packet-burst” which can lead to a queue overflow at the router.
At bad internet connection or missing QoS:
When transmitting speech via a data network the Intercom Server carries out a automatic jitter
adustment. At a bad internet connection or missing QoS mechanisms this can lead to a diminished
speech quality.
Jitter Buffer Start Delay: If the speech at the start of conversations is faulty the time in this combo-
box should be increased.
No decrement of Jitter Buffer: If speech quality is not good during conversations this field should be
activated. This prevents automatic readjusting of the jitter adjustment.
