When to
Reconfigure Your
Computer
When you add or remove optional equipment, you may need to
reconfigure the computer to recognize these changes. If you
install a plug and play device, Windows automatically
recognizes the device and configures your computer. If you
install a non–plug and play device, you must reconfigure your
computer by running Computer Setup.
Compaq Utilities
This section describes the options available in Compaq Utilities.
When using these utilities, see the online help for specific
information.
Using the Compaq Utilities Menu
To access the Compaq Utilities menu, complete the following
steps:
1. Turn on or restart the computer.
2. When the F10 Setup message appears in the lower-right
corner of the Compaq logo screen, press the F10 key.
If you do not press the F10 key while the message is
displayed, you must turn the computer off, then on again
to access the utility.
3. Press Enter to bypass the title and welcome screens. The
Compaq Utilities menu appears.
The Compaq Utilities menu offers the following options:
Computer Setup
Computer Checkup (TEST)
