Battery charge light
blinks for low-battery
condition, but computer
didn’t beep.
Low-battery beeps are
turned off.
Click Start, Settings, Control
Panel; double-click the Power
icon, then click the Battery
Conservation tab and enable
low-battery warning beeps.
Speaker volume is turned
down or off.
Press
Fn+F5
and the right
arrow key to increase volume.
Battery charge light
doesn’t turn on.
Battery packs are already
charged.
No action is necessary.
Battery pack won’t fast
charge.
Battery pack(s) were
exposed to temperature
extremes.
Allow time for the battery
pack(s) to return to room
temperature.
Battery pack(s) are at the
end of their life.
Replace the battery pack(s).
Battery pack(s) are already
fully charged.
Use the battery pack(s)
without charging.
Every time the computer
is turned on, the date
and time have to be set.
Real-time clock battery is
at the end of its life.
Call your Compaq authorized
service provider to replace the
real-time clock battery.
