ArmadaStation Removal and Replacement Procedures
7. Untuck the control panel cable from the backplane assembly.
8. Remove the control panel assembly (Section 5.13). The control panel cable can be
disconnected from the control panel assembly when the assembly is removed from
the base assembly.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the control panel cable on the drive cage shield
when removing the control panel assembly.
Refer to Section 5.13 for instructions on connecting and positioning the control panel
cable.
5.13 Control Panel Assembly
The control panel assembly is located on the right side of the base assembly and
consists of the following:
■ Security lock
■ Infrared lens
■ Right speaker
■ Power, eject, suspend, and volume/mute buttons
■ Control panel board
■ Suspend lightpipe
■ C/U actuator
To remove the control panel assembly, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the ArmadaStation for disassembly (Section 5.3).
2. Remove the alignment tray assembly (Section 5.4).
3. Remove the rear panel assembly (Section 5.5).
4. Remove the upper case assembly (Section 5.6).
5. Disconnect and untuck the control panel from the backplane assembly (Section 5.12).
6. Remove the screw from the right side of the drive cage shield that secures the control
panel ground cable (Section 5.7).
