NOTE
A 5/16" Allen key with a 1 1/2" bend at one end is required to mount the doors. This is a tool
not normally carried by most installers. Make sure you have one before starting this
installation.
The door panels are identical. There are four holes in the top of each panel, allowing the same
door panel to be used for left or right hand installations, including car doors. The slow door
must be mounted first.
5) Attach one of the door panels to the slow door hanger assembly using the Allen head
bolts supplied. Use the holes closest to the leading edge of the door. Tighten the bolts
firmly, ensuring the hanger assembly is flush with the inside of the door panel.
6) Attach the fast door panel to the other hanger assembly using the same procedure.
Again, use the holds closest to the leading edge.
7) Check to make sure that both door panels slide easily from one side of the entrance to
the other.
With Concord's design, shims are not required underneath the hanger assembly as the hanger
roller bearings are adjustable for raising, lowering and aligning the door panels. To align the
door properly, use a 3/16" Allen key and to adjust the roller hangers, use an 11/16" wrench.
8) Loosen the lock nuts on the fast door roller hanger bearings and insert the Allen key.
Push the door panel up against the strike post of the frame. If the door panel does not
align properly with the strike post, rotate the adjustment screw to raise or lower the door
panel as required.
9) Measure under the door panel and set it at 1/4" (6 mm), equally from one side to the
other. See Figure # 28. This should also align the leading edge of the door panel with the
strike jamb, providing the assembly is square.
NOTE
3/8" (10 mm) underneath the door panel is the maximum distance allowed by code. Concord
recommends setting the distance at 1/4" (6 mm).
10) Set the slow door in the same manner. Use the edges of the fast door panel for you
alignment guide.
11) When satisfied that the door panels are properly aligned and the distance underneath the
door to the sill is correct, tighten the lock nuts on the roller bearings.
Each door panel is equipped with two track guides or "gibs" consisting of a steel angle with
numerous mounting holes and a nylon track guide or slide. Holes are provided on the bottom
inside face of the door panel for each gib.
12) Install one of the gibs on the bottom of the steel fastening angle. Use the two holes
closest to the vertical section of the angle where it attaches to the door panel. Ensure the
gib is straight and parallel with the vertical section of the angle where it attaches to the
door.
