49. Neighbor Discovery (ND) Inspection
Commands
49-1 ipv6 nd inspection policy
This command is used to create an ND inspection policy. This command will enter into the ND
inspection policy configuration mode. Use the no form of this command to remove the ND inspection
policy.
ipv6 nd inspection policy POLICY-NAME
no ipv6 nd inspection policy POLICY-NAME
Parameters
POLICY-NAME
Specifies the ND inspection policy name.
Default
None.
Command Mode
Global Configuration Mode.
Command Default Level
Level: 12.
Usage Guideline
This command is used to create an ND inspection policy. This command will enter into the ND
inspection policy configuration mode. ND inspection is mainly for inspection of Neighbor Solicitation
(NS) and Neighbor Advertisement (NA) messages.
Example
This example shows how to create an ND policy name called “policy1”.
Switch# configure terminal
Switch(config)# ipv6 nd inspection policy policy1
Switch(config-nd-inspection)#
49-2 validate source-mac
This command is used to check the source MAC address against the link-layer address for ND
messages. Use the no form of this command to disable the check.
validate source-mac
no validate source-mac
Parameters
None.
Default
By default, this option is disabled.
