Cleaning the Laminator
Mostcardjamsarecausedbydirtyrollers.Cleanthelaminatoratthesametimethatyouclean
theprinter.Ifyouareusingthelaminatorasastandaloneunit,cleanthelaminatorafterevery
1,000cards.
Referto“LaminatorRollerLayout”onpage 91tofindthelocationofthe
rollers.
Cleaning the Card Feed Rollers and Heat Roller
Theheatrollerprovidesthehea tusedduringthelaminationprocess.Thecardfeedrollersmove
thecardinsidethelaminator.
1. Poweroffboththeprinterandlaminator.
2. Openthelaminatordoor.
3. Pressthecartridgereleasebuttonsandremovethelaminatorcartridge(s).
4. Closethelaminatordoorandpoweronthelaminator.
Theredstatuslightstartsblinking.
5. PresstheOperatorbuttonfortwosecondsorlonger.Thisstarts
thecleaningprocess.
6. Removetheprotectivepaperfromacleaningcard.
7. Insertthecleaningcardintothecardoutletofthelaminator.
Thecardisdrawninbytheroller.Cleaningstartsautomatically
andthecardisdischargedfromthecardoutlet.
8. PresstheOperatorbuttonfortwosecondsorlonger.
9. Reversetheadhesivefaceofthecleaningcardandinsertitinto
thecardoutlet.Thecardisdrawninbytheroller.Cleaning
startsautomaticallyandthecardisdischargedfromthe
cardoutlet.
10. Poweroffthelaminator.
11. Openthelaminatordoorandreinstallthefilmcartridge(s)inthelaminator.
12. Poweronthelaminator.
Ifthelaminatorisconnectedtoacardprinter,youcancleanthecardfeedrollersandheat
rollerforbothdevicesatthesametime.Performthestepsin“CleaningtheCardFeed
RollersandHeatRolleronpage 73.Usethefollowingproceduretocleanjustthe
laminatorrollers
ifproblemsareoccurringinthelaminationprocess.
