17. System with Pre-Configured Storage
If your system is pre-configured at the factory, the encryption policy (Section 18) and storage
configurations (Section 19) can be skipped. The default password (Authorization Key) for
encryption operation can be found in the SED Default Password document attached to the
enclosure covers.
Please refer to Section 20 and Section 21 for information on connecting your hosts and
configuring presentations.
18. Encryption Policy Setting
SFA12K supports encryption-capable disks. If you have purchased the SED (Self-Encrypting
Drives) management license, refer to Appendix D for instructions on how to generate the
activation key and activate the license.
NOTE :
The subsystem must have no pools and all physical disks must be
encryption-capable. If the subsystem has active pools, the command
will be rejected.
To enable encryption:
1. Select Subsystem > Set Subsystem Attributes.
2. In the Encrypt Physical Disk Policy field, select All New Pools, then enter the
passwords.
3. Click Update to save the changes.
Refer to the SFA OS User Guide (Self-Encrypting Disk Policy Settings) for more information
on using this feature.
