Why is the audio output low or absent on my DCS 900E?
    • A
      Alex CooperAug 22, 2025
Check that all cables are connected correctly and are not damaged. Damaged cables are a VERY common source of malfunctions! Also, verify that the source and destination equipment are switched on and correctly set up. Confirm that an audio signal is present on one or both of the inputs. Finally, ensure Mute is not enabled - the LED should be off.

Why are the left and right channels swapped on my DCS Media Converter?
    • A
      Arthur HernandezSep 3, 2025
Check that the audio input cables are not reversed. Verify that the channels are not swapped elsewhere in the system. If using SDIF-2, check that CH1 and CH2 outputs are connected correctly. If you're using a dCS 902 only in Dual AES mode, make sure the AES 1 output connects to the destination equipment's Left channel input and the AES 2 output connects to the Right channel input. Refer to the destination equipment's manual for specific labeling information.

What to do if my DCS 900E fails to power up?
    • D
      Dr. Jessica CraigAug 30, 2025
First, ensure the mains cable has power and the unit’s mains switch is On. Next, verify the rated supply voltage on the unit's rear matches your local supply voltage. Also, check if the fuse has blown and replace it if necessary, after correcting any obvious cause. Finally, ensure the mains cable is fully inserted into the mains inlet on the unit's rear.

Why don't the level trimmers change the input level on my DCS Media Converter?
    • A
      Alan JacksonAug 29, 2025
If the level trimmers on the rear panel of your DCS Media Converter aren't changing the input level: * Make sure the trim tool or screwdriver you're using is narrow enough (about 2.5mm or 0.1” diameter) and long enough (at least 12mm or 0.5”) to reach the adjuster. * The trimmer might be at the end of its travel; try turning it several times in the opposite direction. It's a 20-turn device.

If one output channel on your DCS Media Converter has low or no audio: * Check that all cables are connected correctly and are not damaged, as damaged cables are a very common source of malfunctions. * Check that the balance isn't offset elsewhere in the system. * If the level trimmers on the rear panel have been adjusted, ensure that one hasn't been set much lower than the other.
