Figure 58. Removing an IOM
NOTE
: Although the gure shows a controller module instead of an expansion module, the form factors are very similar
and the latching mechanisms are identical.
5 Grip the latch handle and ease the IOM forward from the slot as shown in detail No.2 within Figure 56. Removing an IOM.
NOTE
: Figure 56. Removing an IOM shows a 4-port SAS controller module. However, the procedure applies to all IOMs
discussed herein. They all use the same latch mechanism, but feature dierent face plate geometry.
6 Place both hands on the IOM body, and pull it straight out of the enclosure such that the controller module remains level during
removal.
Replacing a power supply unit (PSU)
Illustrations in the power supply unit module replacement procedures show rear panel views of the enclosure, and PSUs are properly aligned
for insertion into the PSU slots.
Before you begin any procedure, see ESD precautions.
Removing a PSU
CAUTION
: Removing a power supply unit signicantly disrupts the enclosure’s airow. Do not remove the PSU until you have
received the replacement module. It is important that all slots are lled when the enclosure is in operation.
