To add an IPv6 neighbor:

Click Switch Management > IPv6 Addressing > IPv6 Neighbors .
The following fields are displayed for previously-defined neighbors:

Interface —Interface connected to the neighbor.
–
IPv6 Address —IPv6 address of the neighbor.
–
MAC Address —MAC address of the neighbor.
–
Type —Neighbor discovery cache information entry type ( Static or
Dynamic ).
–
State — The possible states are:
•
Incomplete — An address resolution is in progress, and the link-
layer address of the neighbor has not yet been determined.
•
Reachable — The neighbor is known to have been reachable
recently (within tens of seconds).
•
Stale — The neighbor is no longer known to be reachable, but
until traffic is sent to the neighbor, no attempt is made to verify
its reachability.
•
Delay — The neighbor is no longer known to be reachable, and
traffic has recently been sent to the neighbor. Rather than probe
the neighbor immediately, however, there is a delay sending
probes for a short while, in order to give upper-layer protocols a
chance to provide reachability confirmation.
•
Probe — The neighbor is no longer known to be reachable, and
Unicast Neighbor Solicitation probes are being sent to verify
reachability.

Router —Whether the neighbor is a router (Yes or NA).
2 To add a new IPv6 neighbor, click Edit, Add, and enter the fields:

IPv6 Interface — Displays the interface on which the IPv6 address is
defined.

IPv6 Address — Enter the neighbor IPv6 address.
–
MAC Address — Enter the MAC address assigned to the interface.
3 To modify or remove an IPv6 neighbor, click Edit , and enter the fields
described above page.
