USB DECT Box on the OpenCom 100 Configuring the PC Software
Tip: We recommend that you cre-
ate the Internet access indirectly via
the RAS access of the OpenCom 100.
If you wish to use the USB Box to dial
up an Internet provider directly, fol-
low the instructions in the corre-
sponding chapter of the “USB DECT
Box” manual. If you do this, you can
omit the remaining steps.
Please note: The direct dial-up
of an Internet provider offers no
safety mechanisms, whereas access-
ing the Internet via the OpenCom 100
protects your network/PC by means
of filter lists.
7. In the Configurator (menu User
Manager: User), assign the user
of the USB DECT Box to a user
group which is allowed to use
RAS access.
8. Configure the Internet access in
the OpenCom 100 Configurator
(menu NET Configuration: Con-
nections: ISP). You can edit/cre-
ate suitable filter lists for the In-
ternet access in the NET
Configuration: Safe Access
menu.
9. Configure the RAS access in the
NET Configuration: Connec-
tions: RAS menu.
10. Configure the communication
network. To do this, follow the
instructions in the correspond-
ing chapter of the “USB DECT
Box” manual. Do not enter the
provider data, though. Instead,
use the internal number of the
RAS access and the user name
and password of the
OpenCom 100 user.
Detailed information can be found in
the Internet starting on page 125
section of the Frequently Asked Ques-
tions chapter. The information con-
cerning the Internet functionality of
the OpenPhone 25/27 also applies to
the USB DECT Box.
