INSTALLATION
2-34 L025317 Issue 1 March 2011
Typical installation faults
Interlock 1 is connected with guard door 1 and interlock 2 with guard door 2.
In this case the principle of redundancy would be violated. Furthermore the
operator has to open both doors to make the next relay start possible.
Active electronic parts such as transistors or light barriers feed an external
voltage into the interlock circuit. If this part fails, the safety of the installation
would be violated. PLC outputs connected with interlock circuits are also
seen as critical. Software errors could lead to a safety risk.
Timing Violations:
• Time between power on and Reset/Start pulse too short
• Reset/Start pulse too short
• Interlock opening time too short.
COMPRESSED AIR CONNECTION, LENS
The laser head can be equipped with a connection for compressed air.
Compressed air at 7 - 14 psi (0.5 - 1 bar) keeps the objective lens of the
D120i and D320i free from dust. It requires a 6mm diameter hose.
To fit the compressed air hose:
• Push the sleeve nut over the hose
• Push the hose onto the air connector and tighten the sleeve nut.
Only clean and dry compressed air, free of oil, should be used, to avoid
damage to the lens.
