The Shaft Encoder input is directly connected in parallel with the Product
Detect Interface. For this reason the electrical specification is identical as
well.
For the same reason, the standard encoder cable has no “Z” connection in
order not to get signal collision with the product detector. If needed e.g. in
labeller applications, the isolated leads may be soldered to the scheduled
pins, or a fully connected cable (Z- version) may be ordered.
Three different types of shaft encoders can be connected:
•NPN-types,
•PNP-types
• Differential types.
