Cylinder Block/Head
Adjusting the Valve Clearance
• Turn the crankshaft to set the piston of cylinder no. 1 at TDC of the compression stroke; then, adjust the valve clearance.
• Unscrew the rocker arm mounting nut and fit the feeler gauge between the rocker arm and valve. Adjust the clearance of
each cylinder with the adjustment screw; then, tighten the mounting nut.
• Adjust the valve clearance as follows while the engine is cold:
