7 Installation and commissioning
This section explains what needs to be taken into account when installing the flame
monitor, and how to connect the purge air and the electronics.
7.1 Safety
DANGER
High voltage. Danger of death due to electric current!
An immediate danger of death exists in case of contact with live parts. Damage to the
insulation or individual components can present a danger of death.
Once the housing or touch guard have been removed, live parts are accessible.
Therefore:
Disconnect the flame monitor before removing the plug-in cover or the cover.
When doing so, take into account both the flame monitor's supply voltage and the
supply voltage of the contact circuit.
DANGER
Risk of explosion in hazardous areas!
Incorrect use results in serious personal injury and material damage.
Using the compact flame monitor in hazardous areas is only permitted with device
variants that have the corresponding labelling and that are intended for use in this kind
of environment. Observe the notes on explosion protection in section 3 Explosion
protection [}17]. Observe the imprinted zone labelling.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to harmful gases!
Incorrect use can result in serious personal injury and material damage.
When using combustion systems with harmful gases, high gas temperatures or high
pressure, the compact flame monitor must only be fitted or removed when the system
is at a standstill if no shut-off ball valve is being used.
WARNING
Danger of injury due to insufficient qualification!
Incorrect use can result in serious personal injury and material damage.
Ensure that work is only ever performed by suitably qualified specialised personnel
(see section 2.3 Qualified personnel [}15]).
Particular care must be taken to ensure that personnel are aware of, and comply with,
the personal protection warnings specified in this manual.
