When using a fibre-optic system, the purge air supply for the D−LX 721 is guaranteed
by the corresponding supply of the fibre optic system. Information on this assembly
and installation can therefore be found in the description of the optional fibre-optic sys-
tem D‑LL703/704.
7.8 Initial commissioning
Have the prerequisites necessary for operation been met?
Has the flame monitor been installed as specified in the dimensional draw-
ings and connection diagrams, and have the safety screws for secure at-
tachment been properly tightened? (see section 7.3.2 Attaching the flange
[}52])
Has the cabling work been carried out, as described from section 7.5 Elec-
trical connection [}61]?
Has the supply voltage system been installed and is it supplied with
voltage? (see section 7.5 Electrical connection [}61])
Has the purge air been connected and is the purge air system in operation?
(see section 7.3.2 Attaching the flange [}52])

After initial commissioning, the device settings (as described in section 8 Flame mon-
itor settings [}71]) must be applied.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to harmful gases!
Incorrect use can result in serious personal injury and material damage.
When using combustion systems with harmful gases, high gas temperatures or high
pressure, the compact flame monitor must only be fitted or removed when the system
is at a standstill if no shut-off ball valve is being used.
NOTICE
The system may be damaged and contaminated due to the failure of the purge
air!
If the purge air fails, the lens may quickly become contaminated and the flame monitor
may overheat due to a build-up of heat and be destroyed. Therefore:
Make sure that
the purge air supply is operating reliably and smoothly (even when the system is
stopped).
you immediately detect a failure of the purge air.
the flame monitor is protected by a valve or dismantling process in the event of a
purge air failure.
7.9 Dismantling and disposal
7.9.1 Dismantling
Switch off the system and secure against re-activation.
Disconnect all electrical lines from the flame monitor.
