D-LX 201/721
*DIP positions 1 to 4 must never be changed (see section 8.6 Flame Failure Detection
Time (FFDT) [}82])!
** Factory setting on delivery
When setting the switching threshold for the flicker frequency, make sure that the
MODE switches S3 and S4 always have the same setting. In the event of a discrep-
ancy between the settings of the two MODE switches, the red "Switch error" LED will
light up, and the flame monitor will perform an error shutdown after 8 secs.
To avoid an error shutdown, set the MODE switches S3 and S4 to the same setting
within 8 secs.
You can set different switching thresholds for the two ranges A and B (see section 8.1
Range selection [}72]l).
Setting the switching threshold for the frequency to 0
means deactivating the switching
threshold. This also deactivates the detection of periodic signals.
A
switching threshold > 0
specifies a switching threshold. The flicker frequency meas-
ured at the flame must exceed this threshold value in order to bring about a flame ON
signal.
Example:
The switching threshold for the frequency is 50 Hz. If the flicker frequency falls below
50 Hz, the flame monitor will issue a "flame OFF" notification after the FFDT has
elapsed (even if the intensity switching threshold has been exceeded).
After the settings have been made:
1.
Close the housing (see section 7.4 Opening and closing the housing [}55]).
8.5 Setting sequence
The factory settings applied on delivery (for switching thresholds and gain character-
istic curves) can be adjusted by the operating company if they prove insufficient for the
application in question after one attempt. The following flow diagrams clearly show the
sequence of this adjustment that has proved successful in practice.
8.5.1 Aims of the settings
Flame OFF settings:
When the burner is switched off, the switching thresholds are set high enough to en-
sure that the flame monitor will reliably issue a flame OFF notification.
The "Flame" LED (on the back of the device) must be dark
The value of the analogue output is lower than 5 mA (0 – 20 mA) or 8 mA (4 –
20mA)
The value of the analogue output display in the D−LX 200 evaluation software is
lower than 25 %
The relay output for the flame ON signal is open
Flame ON settings:
When the burner is switched on, the flame monitor should reliably exceed the set
switching thresholds and issue a flame ON notification.
The "Flame" LED (on the back of the device) must light up green
