Why is my ECOWITT Weather Station data not reporting to Wunderground.com?
    • C
      Christian LeeAug 15, 2025
First, confirm that your station ID is correct, noting that it is case-sensitive and that a capital letter 'O' is not being substituted for a zero ('0') or vice versa. Ensure your password (key) is correct, which is the password Wunderground.com generated for your station ID. Also, verify the date, time, and time zone on the console are correct. Finally, check your router firewall settings to ensure data is being sent via port 80.

How to fix ECOWITT HP3501 no Wi-Fi connection?
    • T
      Travis BenitezAug 18, 2025
Check for the Wi-Fi symbol on the display. If it's not displayed, ensure the console's external power adapter is plugged in and functional, as Wi-Fi demands more energy than batteries alone can provide. If you've never configured Wi-Fi, ensure your Wi-Fi supports 2.4 GHz signals. Verify you've configured the correct SSID and password. Note that the console doesn't support 'captive Wi-Fi' networks.

Why don't the indoor and outdoor temperatures on my ECOWITT HP3501 agree during indoor testing?
    • M
      myersrandyAug 25, 2025
Allow up to one hour for the sensors to stabilize and adjust to room temperature. The indoor and outdoor temperature sensors should agree within 4 °F (the sensor accuracy is ± 2 °F). If these values still disagree, use calibration offsets for one or both sensors to adjust to a known good reference temperature.

How to correct the time on my ECOWITT HP3501?
    • H
      Hannah CurryAug 27, 2025
Ensure your time zone and daylight saving time settings are correct, even when connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi. If not connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi, you may also have to manually set the correct time.

What to do if the relative pressure on my ECOWITT Weather Station does not agree with the official reporting station?
    • J
      Jamie LiuAug 31, 2025
Make sure you are not looking at absolute pressure, especially if your station is not near sea level. Check at different times due to possible delays in updates to the official station. Redo the pressure calibration procedure. Note that the barometer is only accurate to ± 0.09 inHg (3 hPa) within the relative pressure range of 20.67 to 32.50 inHg (700 – 1,100 hPa), corresponding to an altitude of 9,000 ft. (2,750 m) down to 2,500 ft. (750 m) below sea level.

Why does my ECOWITT Weather Station have intermittent outdoor sensor reception problems?
    • B
      Brian MoodySep 2, 2025
The issue may be a temporary loss of communication due to signal quality issues caused by electrical interference or obstacles. To troubleshoot: 1. Install a fresh set of batteries in the remote sensor and console. 2. For cold weather, install lithium batteries. 3. Ensure the power adapter isn't too close to the console and that the console isn't near electrical noise-generating devices. 4. Move the sensor and console closer together, but not closer than 5 ft. 5. Check for metal barriers between the sensor and console. 6. Relocate the sensor and console as necessary.

What to do if indoor and outdoor humidity readings don't agree on my ECOWITT HP3501 during testing?
    • R
      ryan94Sep 5, 2025
The procedure is the same as for outdoor/indoor temperature. The sensors should agree within 10 % (the sensor accuracy is ± 5 %). If these values still disagree, use calibration offsets for one or both sensors to adjust to a known good reference humidity.

Why does the indoor temperature sensor on my ECOWITT HP3501 read too high?
    • H
      Hannah FoxSep 8, 2025
Make sure the thermo-hygrometer is mounted in an indoor area where it will not be exposed to direct sunlight, radiative heating, or convective heating.

Why is my ECOWITT HP3501 Weather Station outdoor sensor not reporting to the console?
    • M
      Michael OconnorNov 20, 2025
Check that the outdoor transmission LED is flashing normally. If the batteries were recently replaced, check for correct polarity and reseat them. If the batteries are old, replace them. If the LED is now flashing normally, proceed to the next step. If it is not flashing and you have repeated battery checks and placement, you may have a defective unit. Make sure you have fresh batteries in the display console. If the batteries may have been changed in the remote and/or the console, and the console has not been reset, the solution may be as simple as power cycling the console: remove both batteries and external adapter for about 10 seconds and reconnect. If you still have problems, bring the outdoor sensor to a location about 10 ft. away from the console for testing. Power cycle the console...
