System Status

hostname
This command specifies or modifies the host name for this device. Use the
no
form
to restore the default host name.
Syntax
hostname
name
no hostname
name - The name of this host. (Maximum length: 255 characters)

The host name specified by this command is displayed by the show system
command and on the Show > System web page.

This command and the prompt command can be used to set the command line
prompt as shown in the example below. Using the
no
form of either command
will restore the default command line prompt.
