Dynamic DNS
Dynamic DNS allows a system administrator to associate a name with the the
public address of the system. When a change occurs to the public interface of
the system, the Dynamic DNS service is notified of the change. Common uses
for Dynamic DNS are systems with a frequently changing public address
(DHCP or PPPoE). Even systems with static addresses can use dynamic DNS
to assign a name to a system.
The following Dynamic DNS providers are supported by this feature. Enter
one of the supported Service Names listed below (e.g. easydns).

Select Dynamic DNS --
Dynamic DNS allows a user to
associate a name with the public address of the system. When a change
occurs to the public interface of the system, the Dynamic DNS service is
notified of the change.
o Enable Dynamic DNS --
Check this box to enable the system to
notify the external DNS server that the systems IP address has
changed.
o Service Name --
Enter the Service Name that the system is using.
o User ID --
User ID and Password are used to authenticate the
DNS name with the service provider. This is usually the information
used when a user signs up for Dynamic DNS with one of the service
providers shown.
o Password --

o Host ID --
Host ID is the domain name chosen by the user to
identify the name of their system. This name is usually created in the
user's portal on the service provider’s site. The name is the fully
qualified domain name that can be used to access the system from the
public Internet (e.g. mysitename.dyndns.org).
