should be recorded such as the time elapsed before first measurement, sampling interval, etc.
3.5 After use
Clean the instrument and spindle.
Always remove the spindle from the instrument before cleaning. The spindle or motor
coupling will almost certainly be damaged if attempts are made to clean the spindle while it
is still attached to the instrument.
Do not use very aggressive solvents or wire brushes, metal scrapers, metal files or other
metallic tools. Do not use excessive force which might otherwise bend delicate spindles.
Clean the spindle and other parts using a suitable solvent only.
After cleaning and before storing the instrument ensure that all materials are removed and
that the instrument is dry.
4 PRINTING TEST RESULTS
Test results from your Viscometer can be printed using two methods:
ViscosityMaster software
Printing Mode
Use of ViscosityMaster software provides the greatest flexibility and allows for printing, storage
and graphical analysis of test results. Full instructions for ViscosityMaster can be found in
“ViscosityMaster Software” on page 30.
Printing Mode provides a quick and easy way to print
individual test results. Connect your Viscometer to a
suitable printer (see “Thermal printer” on page 29), press
the START button and the test results will be printed.
To use Printing Mode:
1. Switch on your Viscometer and set it to Printing
Mode - see “Configuring your Viscometer” on page 7.
2. Connect your Viscometer to the printer using a
null-modem

3. Whenever the START button is pressed the test
results will be sent to the printer.
Note: When Printing Mode is OFF, switch off your printer - otherwise a continuous stream of test
results will be printed.
