Trunking groups and ASIC groups
The DS-4900B provides 8-port trunk groups. The trunking octet
groups are in the following ranges: 0-7, 8-15, 16-23, 24-31, 32-39,
40-47, 48-55, and 56-63.
There are 16 user ports per Condor ASIC on the DS-4900B. They are
divided as follows: port numbers 0-15, 16-31, 32-47, and 48-63. The
distinction between trunk groups and ASIC groups is important for
Trunking over long distance, where the ASIC restrictions determine
the number of and length of the long distance links.
