Environment
Ambient temperature range
Transmitter –40 to +60 °C (–40 to +140 °F)
Local display –20 to +60 °C (–4 to +140 °F), the readability of the display may be
impaired at temperatures outside the temperature range.
Sensor Flange material carbon steel: –10 to +60 °C (+14 to +140 °F)
Flange material stainless steel: –40 to +60 °C (–40 to +140 °F)
Mount the transmitter separately from the sensor if both the ambient
and fluid temperatures are high.
Liner Do not exceed or fall below the permitted temperature range of the liner
(→  32).
If operating outdoors:
Install the measuring device in a shady location.
Avoid direct sunlight, particularly in warm climatic regions.
Avoid direct exposure to weather conditions.
Protect the display against impact.
Protect the display from abrasion by sand in desert areas.
A display protector can be ordered from Endress+Hauser: "Accessories" section (→  87)
Storage temperature
The storage temperature corresponds to the operating temperature range of the measuring
transmitter and the appropriate measuring sensors.
Protect the measuring device against direct sunlight during storage in order to avoid unacceptably
high surface temperatures.
Select a storage location where moisture cannot collect in the measuring device as fungus or
bacteria infestation can damage the liner.
If protection caps or protective covers are mounted these should never be removed before
installing the measuring device.
Atmosphere
If a plastic transmitter housing is permanently exposed to certain steam and air mixtures, this can
damage the housing.
If you are unsure, please contact your Endress+Hauser Sales Center for clarification.
Degree of protection
Transmitter
As standard: IP66/67, type 4X enclosure
When housing is open: IP20, type 1 enclosure
Sensor
As standard: IP66/67, type 4X enclosure
Optionally available for remote version:
IP66/67, type 4X enclosure; fully welded, with protective varnish EN ISO 12944 C5-M. Suitable
for use in corrosive atmospheres.
IP68, type 6P enclosure; fully welded, with protective varnish as per EN ISO 12944 C5-M.
Suitable for permanent immersion in water ≤3 m (10 ft) or 48 hours at depths ≤10 m (30 ft).
IP68, type 6P enclosure; fully welded, with protective varnish as per EN ISO 12944 Im2/Im3.
Suitable for permanent immersion in saline water ≤3 m (10 ft) or 48 hours at depths
≤10 m (30 ft) or in buried applications.
Shock resistance
Acceleration up to 2 g following IEC 60068-2-6
Vibration resistance
Acceleration up to 2 g following IEC 60068-2-6
Mechanical load
Protect the transmitter housing against mechanical effects, such as shock or impact; the use of the
remote version is sometimes preferable.
Never use the transmitter housing as a ladder or climbing aid.
