16.1 Application
The measuring device is suitable for flow measurement of liquids and gases only.
Depending on the version ordered, the measuring device can also measure potentially
explosive, flammable, poisonous and oxidizing media.
To ensure that the device remains in proper operating condition for its service life, use the
measuring device only for media against which the process-wetted materials are
adequately resistant.
16.2 Function and system design
Measuring principle Mass flow measurement based on the Coriolis measuring principle
Measuring system The device consists of a transmitter and a sensor. If a device with Modbus RS485
intrinsically safe is ordered, the Safety Barrier Promass 100 is part of the scope of supply
and must be implemented to operate the device.
One device version is available: compact version, transmitter and sensor form a mechanical
unit.
