Inside (SC-S70600 series, SC-S50600 series)
Dirt on any of the following parts may reduce print quality. Regularly clean or exchange these parts as described in the
chapters listed in the reference sections below. The illustration shows the SC-S70600 series.
A Print head
The print head prints by moving left and right while emitting ink. The print head on the left is Head 1, the print head
on the right Head 2. We recommend that you clean the area around this unit once a week.
U “Cleaning Around the Print Head” on page 81
B Media holding plate
The media holding plates prevent the media riding up and keeps fuzz on the cut edge of the media from touching
the print head. Position the plates at either side of the media before printing.
U “Loading Media (SC-S70600 series/SC-S50600 series)” on page 32
C Cutter groove
Pass the blade of a cutter (available in the market) down this groove to cut media.
D Pressure rollers (high)
There are ten rollers in total; the high pressure rollers are the two on the outside edges. They press down on the
edges of the media during ink layering.

E Pressure rollers (low)
There are ten rollers in total; all of which are low pressure rollers apart from the two on the outside edges. They press
down on the media during normal (non-layer) printing. The number used varies with the width of the media.
