A prefix “n” to signal names indicates “L” active signals. For the host computer not
provided with all of the signal lines listed above, bidirectional communication fails.
For interfacing, signal lines shall use twisted pair cables with the return sides connected
to signal ground level. Follow the IEEE Std 1284 for the specifications of the interface
cable.
Make sure the signals satisfy electrical characteristics.
Set the leading edge and trailing edge times to 0.5 ms or less.
Data transmission shall not ignore the signal nAck or Busy. An attempt to transmit data
with either signal, nAck or Busy, ignored can cause data loss.
Interface cables shall be the minimum required length and as short in length as possible.
