EMERGENCY Mode
The UPS unit may switch to the EMERGENCY mode either as a result of an
overload, a shorted output, internal fault(s), exceeding the permissible temperature
range of the inverter or internal batteries, triggered EPO or the presence of reversed
voltage. The UPS is switched off by the logic system and user's intervention is
required (to delete the fault).
PROTECTIONS AND SAFEGUARDS
Overload protection
In the mains operation mode, at a load over 105% of the nominal power, the UPS
indicates the overload condition with a continuous sound and by displaying the icon
in the messages area. The UPS may remain in this state until the load decreases
at its output or the overcurrent protection is triggered.
In the battery operation mode, at a load over 105% of the nominal power, the UPS
indicates the overload condition with a continuous sound and by displaying the icon
in the messages field. If this condition lasts over 15 s, the UPS goes into
EMERGENCY mode - the red LED is pulsating (100 ms ON / 100 ms OFF) with
sound alarm on (the signal is switched on and off with the LED), and the icon is
displayed in the messages field.
Short-circuit protection
In the mains operating mode, the fuse located in the UPS unit's rear section acts as a
short-circuit protection.
In the battery operating mode, electronic short-circuit protection is available, which
limits the short-circuit current to a safe level. If the short circuit lasts over 400 ms, the
unit switches to EMERGENCY mode. This is signaled with a continuous sound and
the icon displayed in the alarms field.
