Against overvoltage (Anti-surge)
The UPS unit is equipped with anti-surge protection on input to protect circuits of the
connected load(s) against potential voltage surges resulting from weather conditions
and interference in the power network.
Thermal protection
The UPS unit is equipped with two independent thermal protection devices to protect
the battery and the inverter's block against overheating.
These protection devices operate in two stages. If the internal temperature (of the
battery or the inverter block) approaches a critical level, a continuous sound signal is
activated and a message appears on the display (the icon in the messages field).
The UPS unit continues to operate in the selected mode. If the temperature
continues to increase, when a critical level is reached, an alarm message is
displayed (the icon in the alarms field) and the UPS unit switches over to
EMERGENCY mode.
EPO (expansion card - optional equipment for SINLINE RT XL UPS units)
The Remote Emergency Power Off (Remote EPO) functionality cuts the power
supply from the UPS output to loads in extreme situations or in emergency (e.g. fire).
EPO is activated (triggered) by opening the trigger's contacts, upon which the UPS
enters EMERGENCY mode. Output voltage will be restored only after the user’s
intervention to reset the trigger to non-active position (trigger's default state), and to
subsequently cancel the alert flag (CONTROL sub-menu; Clear fault and switch the
UPS logically on again.
For the duration of an EPO trigger device, it is possible to temporarily disable the
EPO functionality. Then, the technician can remove the EPO connector without
risking the interruption of power supply to the loads. This operation may take no more
than 1 minute from the Temp.EPODiss parameter sub-menu (CONTROL;
Temp.EPODiss), upon which the lock is automatically off.
The EPO connection contacts show safe voltage levels isolated from the remaining
UPS unit systems.
