3G-SDI Input Card (Quantum Elite only)
Connect one or two 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, or SD-SDI video or graphics sources to the input
connectors on this card (in any combination of SDI signal types). These cards are installed
immediately to the left of the output cards in the card frame.
NOTE: The Quantum detects the SDI input signal format (3G-SDI, HD-SDI, or SD-SDI)
and sets the input to support it.
• Input connectors: The SDI input card has two female HD-BNC connectors.
• Adapter cables: For each SDI card, two female BNC-to-male HD-BNC adapter
cables are provided to enable connection of devices with standard BNC cabling to
the HD-BNC connectors on the card.
• Motion adaptive deinterlacing: The SDI card features an advanced deinterlacing
process, which ensures that NTSC, PAL, and 1080i sources are supported
and deinterlaced properly prior to being placed onto the RAPT bus. By default,
deinterlacing is enabled. To save bandwidth on the RAPT bus if deinterlacing is not a
priority, you can disable the deinterlacing.
• Film mode detection: All advanced film mode cadences are supported and can be
automatically detected (see the Quantum Control Software User Guide for information
on enabling and disabling film mode auto-detection).
The Quantum Elite 615 can accommodate up to 14 input cards, allowing a maximum
of 28 SDI video source inputs (two per card). The Quantum Elite 408 and the Quantum
Connect can each have up to 7 SDI input cards, with a maximum of 14 SDI video inputs.
If more inputs are required, multiple card frames can be used.
