3.1 Preparing the compressed air
Caution
Dirty or incorrectly lubricated compressed air will reduce
the service life of the valve terminal.
3.1.1 Operation with non−lubricated compressed air
Caution
Too much residual oil content in the compressed air will
reduce the service life of the valve terminal.
If bio−oils are used (oils with synthetic ester or true ester
basis, e.g. rape oil methylester) the resuidual oil content
must not ecxceed 0.1 mg/m
3
(see ISO 8573−1 class 2).
If mineral oils are used (e.g. HLP oils as per DIN 51524
parts 1 to 3) or corresponding oils on a polyalphaolefine
basis (PAO), the residual oil content must not exceed
5mg/m
3
(see ISO 8573−1 class 4).
You will thereby avoid functional damage of the valves.
Excessive residual oil cannot be permitted irrespective of the
compressor oil, as otherwise the basic lubrication will be
washed out during the course of time.
