Step 4:
When handling a jute
bag with thick bag
edges, do not
introduce this edge
directly into the
mechanism but shift
the edge gently
before introduction
and starting the
closing operation.

SEWING THE BAG TOP (PLAIN SEWN)
Hold the bag top in your left hand below
where the stitch line is going to be and at the
starting side of the machine. Position the bag
material between the machine’s presser foot
and throat plate. The machine will automati-
cally feed the bag through the machine, when
the start button is pressed.
After sewing a couple of inches of the bag top,
stop the machine by releasing the starting
button. Move your left hand to the leading
edge of the bag near the stitch line and finish
sewing the bag closed. Allow the MODEL F
to sew 2 to 3 inches (51-
76mm) off the trailing edge
of the bag. Remember not
to pull the bag through the
machine. Let the machine
do the work.
The MODEL F is equipped
with a thread knife at the
trailing edge of the throat
plate. (Illustration 13)
With the machine running,
pull the thread chain into
the V-shaped slot at rear of throat plate, by
slightly rotating the machine counter
clockwise. This action brings the knife to the
thread chain to be cut. With a little practice,
the thread cutting operation can be
accomplished swiftly.

Tome el tope de la bolsa con su mano
izquierda por debajo de donde la línea de
puntada va a pasar y al lado del
alimentador de la máquina. Coloque la
bolsa entre la placa garganta y el pie
prensador de la máquina.
Automáticamente la máquina introducirá
la bolsa a través de los mismos cuando
se presione el botón de arranque.
Después de haber cosido un par de
puntadas, pare la máquina dejando de
presionar el botón de arranque. Mueva
su mano izquierda hacia el borde líder y
cerca a la línea de costura y termine de
coser la bolsa. Permita
que la MODELO F cosa
de 2 a 3 pulgadas (51-
76mm) después del borde
final de la bolsa.
Recuerde no halar la
bolsa. Permita que la
máquina haga el trabajo.
La MODELO F esta
equipada con una cuchilla
para corte de hilo al final
de la placa de garganta
(Ilustración 13). Con la
máquina funcionando, tráiga la cadeneta
de hilo hacia la ranura en forma de V de
la parte posterior de la placa garganta,
volteando ligeramente la máquina en el
sentido contrario a las manecillas del
reloj. Esta maniobra trae
