must be driven at least 5 miles (a greater distance is recommended for accuracy) and a
second odometer reading is entered. AIM2™ will then use this information to calibrate analog
speed sensor odometer readings.
Two odometer entries are required to calibrate the odometer. If no odometer entry is shown
in step 7, the steps performed to input an odometer entry must be repeated after driving the
vehicle to obtain a second odometer entry. See step 8.
7. Depress 1=ODOMETER to calibrate the odometer. A prompt will be displayed to confirm
recalibration of the odometer:
VID: 1001555 ODOM: 0000129 (PHT A)
RECALIBRATE ODOMETER (Y/N)?
NOTE
If the following message appears, the FMU cannot detect the odometer reading. Exit the FMU,
run the vehicle engine for one or two minutes, and try again.
* VEHICLE NOT READY. TURN VEHICLE KEY *
* ON. WAIT 20 SECONDS, AND TRY AGAIN. *
8. Depress the Yes key to recalibrate the odometer. A prompt will appear for the input of the
CURRENT ODOMETER (MILES):
VID: 1001555 ODOM: 0000129 (PHT A)
CURRENT ODOMETER (MILES) -> _______.__
9. Enter the current odometer reading and press Enter. If a previous odometer entry had been
entered, AIM2™ will recalibrate based on the new odometer entry:
VID: 1001555 ODOM: 0000129 (PHT A)
CURRENT ODOMETER (MILES) -> 1111_.__
changing to:
VID: 1001555 ODOM: 0001111 (PHT A)
*** ODOMETER RECALIBRATION COMPLETE ***
changing to:
NOTE
Some older versions of FMU firmware may show RESET instead of CLEAN in the following
display.
VID: 1001555 [-MAIN MENU-] (PHT A)
1=CALIBRATE 2=INTERFACE 3=CLEAN D=EXIT
10. If a previous odometer entry was not displayed in step 7, drive the vehicle at least 5 miles
and repeat steps 6 through 9 to accurately calibrate odometer.
11. To recalibrate a chronometer, depress 1=CALIBRATE. The CALIBRATE menu is displayed:
NOTE
In the following display, the chronometers listed will be those selected for the AIM2™ when
the vehicle record was developed with the software. The choices may be run time, idle time,
and/or PTO time. The recalibration procedure is the same for all chronometer options.
Version 5 software may offer the selection of up to 3 chronometers. The following display
may reflect as many as 3 chronometers in addition to odometer. Select the chronometer to
recalibrate.
