Setting up WLAN access
• Requirement: A WLAN must be available and you must have the
corresponding access information.
Informatio n on configuring the WLAN access can be found in the
documentation for your operating system.
Access via UMTS / LTE
If you ordered an integrated UMTS / LT E module with your system, you can enjoy optimum
reception and maximum energy efficiency without awkward cables or antennas. The
optional UMTS / LTE module is ready for use straight away.
If you did not order a UMTS / LTE module, you can purchase the a ccessories for UMTS /
LTE reception from y our retailer or your Fujitsu Technology Solutions dealer.
You will find information on establishing the connection with the UMTS / LTE network
in the documentation for the hardware used.
Your device can connect to the Internet via UMT S / LTE. To do this, use one
of the following types of connection:
• Integrated UMTS / LTE module (availability dependent on your model variant)
• a USB dongle (a USB stick with your mobile phone provider’s SIM card)
• UMTS / LTE ExpressCard (fits into the ExpressCard slot on your device)
• a mobile end-device (e.g. m obile phone with Bluetooth or ca ble connection)
Ethernet and LAN
EthernetLAN
The internal network module of your notebook supports Ethernet LAN. Yo u can use it to
establish a c onnection to a local network (LAN = Local Area Network).
